Former actress Twinkle Khanna , who quit acting after her marriage to pursue a career in interior decoration, has won the Elle Décor International Design Award (EDIDA).
EDIDA is given for original home décor product design. Of the 11 different award categories, Twinkle won the award for best wall finishes and coverings, at the Hilton Towers, Nariman Point.
Twinkle’s mom Dimple Kapadia and her two friends were at the function to cheer her.
Expressing her jubilance at the honor, Twinkle told a website: “It feels great. It’s an honour. More than anything else, it means that when you make your passion your profession, there is no looking back.”
Besides designing homes and offices for people, Twinkle also owns a lifestyle and interior designing store, the White Window, at Andheri.
Twinkle said she would be opening another branch of White Window at Bandra in October. She will also start working on an international project in London next week.
Presently, she is in the US with husband Akshay Kumar and son Aarav.
